Introductory Level Courses
RC-152 Basic Regulatory Awareness
This introductory level course is typically two days in duration. (One and three day variations are also available) These courses are designed for personnel who have little or no previous exposure to the regulations or WMG computer programs. The pace of instruction can be tailored to the experience level of attendees. The courses are structured to ensure basic knowledge of relevant regulations is achieved and are presented through a series of topical lectures with hands-on functional exercises. These courses require successful completion of a multiple choice written exemination for a completion certificate.

Typically, clients completing these courses should only perform shipping functions under the supervision or oversight of an experienced and qualified shipper. These courses can be provided separately or combined with the RC-102 level course to address attendance by students with varying levels of involvement in the radioactive material management process.

Intermediate Level Courses
RC-102 Use of WMG Computer Programs and Regulatory Compliance
RC-102 is a comprehensive intermediate level four day course for technicians, engineers and supervisors, who use or audit WMG’s radioactive material management computer programs on a regular basis. This course is designed for experienced personnel and is presented at an accelerated pace. It is structured to ensure that all key operational and maintenance functions for the following WMG computer programs are addressed in depth: RADMAN™, RAMSHP™, FILTRK™ and OSM™.

The course is presented with a series of topical lectures following the training manual and structured hands–on functional exercises with varying degrees of difficulty. It requires the successful completion of an integrated written exam and computer code I/O examination.

RC-300 Transportation of Radioactive Material by Air
No prior exposure to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations is required for this course. This is an introductory course for the transportation of radioactive materials by air and is only available with the intermediate level RC-102 course. The course addresses the minimum training curricula described in Table 1.5.A of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. This course addresses the specific code functions associated with air transport of radioactive materials. It requires the successful completion of an integrated written exam.

!NEW 10 CFR Part 61 - Regulatory Compliance
This course is designed for Radwaste/Chemistry individuals responsible for 10 CFR 61 sample database managment and QA auditors/inspectors performing oversight functions for the stations 10 CFR 61 Compliance Program.

The two day course provides a review of the Regulatory Chronology/10 CFR 61 Compliance Program Bases and applies that information to establish methodologies for:

Sampling protocols
Frequency requirements
Appropriate implementation of updated data
Advanced Level Courses
RC-1000 Certification Course
RC-1000 intense five-day course is for personnel who regularly perform, evaluate or supervise radioactive material management activities using WMG's computer programs. Successful completion of RC-102 is typically a prerequisite for attendance.

It emphasizes application of the RADMAN™ computer program considering its technical basis, structure and operational features. Code limitations for routine and unusual applications are addressed. WMG’s RAMSHP™, MegaShield™ and FILTRK™ computer programs are also discussed and exercised indepth. Classroom lectures/discussions are combined with hands-on computer applications and problem solving sessions. A majority of time is spent either solving problems at the computer station or doing practical exercises solving realistic packaging and shipping problems routinely encountered. Two WMG subject matter experts provide instruction for this course.

The last day includes a course review and a comprehensive question and problem solving examination which requires a minimum of four hours to complete.
