Employee Spotlight: Tommy Courtemanche

For 19 years, Tommy has been an important part of the WMG team, growing alongside the company while helping shape many of the software solutions and services our customers rely on today.

What began as a planned five-year stop to gain experience in industrial software quickly became the best job of his career, and Tommy credits the people at WMG for that. Starting without a background in the nuclear industry, he learned from some of the best in the business and has grown from software development and customer support into roles spanning IT, cybersecurity, management, business development, and now training.

In his current role, Tommy is leading efforts to expand WMG's training offerings by developing new course materials, introducing additional classes, and extending WMG's educational programs to new customers beyond commercial nuclear power. As WMG continues to grow, Tommy will also be taking a larger role in customer engagement through conferences, presentations, and hands-on instruction, helping prepare the next generation of RADMAN™ users and radiation protection professionals.

What Tommy enjoys most, however, is the people. Over the years, he's watched many RADMAN™ users grow from entry-level Radiation Protection Technicians into industry leaders. Now, he's equally excited to help train the next generation of professionals and play a role in their success!

When asked to describe WMG, Tommy chose three words: Dedicated, Collaborative, and Family. He believes those qualities define not only the way WMG employees work together, but also the relationships they've built with customers across the industry.

Outside of work, Tommy is an avid BBQ enthusiast who enjoys spending weekends with family and friends around the grill. A lifelong traveler thanks to his childhood living abroad, he also enjoys visiting customers across North America - especially Bruce Power and Chalk River in Canada. Tommy is also an avid reader, who on average reads over 70 books a year!

Looking ahead, Tommy is particularly excited about WMG's expanding partnership with the U.S. Navy and the opportunity to help train the next generation of military personnel while supporting their radwaste management programs.
